Rotating Equipment Engineer

Our client is seeking a specialized Rotating Equipment Engineer to join their team in Upington . This role is crucial for the specification, design, installation, and maintenance of rotating machinery such as pumps, compressors, and turbines. You will ensure the reliability and optimal performance of these critical assets within our client's industrial operations. This is a hands-on position requiring deep technical expertise in rotating equipment and a commitment to operational excellence.

• Specify, select, and procure rotating equipment based on project requirements and operational needs.
• Oversee the installation, commissioning, and performance testing of new equipment.
• Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance strategies , including predictive and preventive maintenance programs.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Provide technical expertise and support to maintenance teams and operations personnel.
• Review equipment designs and proposals from vendors for compliance and suitability.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience specifically with rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, turbines, etc.).
• Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and vibration analysis.
• Experience with predictive maintenance technologies (e.g., vibration analysis, thermography).
• Familiarity with relevant industry codes and standards (e.g., API, ASME).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and diagnostic skills.
