About the Role
Our client is seeking a diligent Network Administrator to manage and maintain their critical Enterprise Network infrastructure in Upington . This role is essential for ensuring the smooth operation, security, and performance of the company's network systems. You will be responsible for the installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and optimization of network hardware and software. This position offers a great opportunity to work with diverse network technologies, contribute to network security initiatives, and ensure seamless connectivity for all company operations, within a stable and supportive IT department.
Key Responsibilities- Install, configure, and maintain network hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues, identifying and resolving problems promptly.
- Implement and manage network security measures, including VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and access controls.
- Develop and maintain network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
- Plan and execute network upgrades and changes to support business growth and technology evolution.
- Provide technical support for network-related issues to end-users and IT staff.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience in network administration, focusing on enterprise environments.
- Proficiency with networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs) and network hardware from vendors like Cisco, Juniper, or HP.
- Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, Solar Winds).
- Understanding of network security principles and best practices.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA, Network+, or Security+ are highly desirable.
