Systems Administrator

About the Role

Our client is looking for a reliable and skilled Systems Administrator to join their IT operations team in Upington . You will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of server infrastructure and operating systems. This role requires a strong understanding of Windows and/or Linux environments, network services, and hardware troubleshooting. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the company's IT systems, providing essential support to end-users and contributing to the overall stability of the IT infrastructure.

• Install, configure, and maintain Windows and/or Linux server operating systems.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls across various systems.
• Monitor system performance, identify and resolve issues, and implement preventative measures.
• Perform regular system backups and disaster recovery operations.
• Manage network services such as Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and file sharing.
• Provide technical support to end-users for hardware, software, and system-related issues.

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 2+ years of experience in systems administration .
• Proficiency with Windows Server and/or Linux operating systems.
• Experience with server hardware, virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper‑V), and storage solutions.
• Solid understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and a commitment to providing excellent user support.
