Telecom Support Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and customer-focused Telecom Support Engineer to join their technical support team in Upington . In this role, you will be responsible for providing first and second-line technical support for a variety of telecommunications services and equipment. You will troubleshoot issues, resolve customer queries, and ensure the smooth operation of network services for our client's customer base.

The position requires strong technical aptitude, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality customer service in a field-support capacity.

• Provide technical assistance and support for various telecom products and services.
• Diagnose and resolve technical hardware and software issues for customers.
• Respond to customer inquiries, schedule service calls, and provide follow-up support.
• Document all technical interactions and resolutions in the support ticketing system.
• Escalate unresolved issues to senior support engineers or relevant technical teams.
• Assist in the installation and configuration of telecommunications equipment at customer sites.

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate's degree in a related field is preferred.
• Previous experience in a technical support or customer service role, preferably in the telecom industry.
• Familiarity with telecommunications hardware, software, and network concepts.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting technical problems.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient and customer-centric approach.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a field-support environment.
