Telecoms Support Technician

Our client is looking for a dedicated and customer-focused Telecoms Support Technician to join their operational team in Upington . In this role, you will be responsible for providing frontline technical support to customers experiencing issues with their telecommunications services and equipment. You will diagnose problems, perform on-site repairs, and ensure customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of common telecom issues, excellent troubleshooting skills, and a passion for helping people resolve their technical challenges effectively.

• Respond to customer service requests via phone, email, or in person, diagnosing and resolving technical issues.
• Install, configure, and test customer premises equipment (CPE) such as modems, routers, and VoIP devices.
• Perform on-site troubleshooting and repairs for telecommunications services.
• Educate customers on the use of their equipment and services.
• Escalate complex technical issues to higher-level support teams when necessary.
• Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and service performed.

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in telecommunications or IT is a plus.
• 1-2 years of experience in a customer support or technical support role, preferably within the telecoms sector.
• Basic understanding of internet connectivity , Wi-Fi, and voice services.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting common hardware and software issues.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage a field service schedule effectively.
