Position OverviewThe Cleaner position is a temporary, part-time role based in Upington. The successful candidate will perform a wide range of cleaning and housekeeping duties to ensure commercial facilities remain clean, hygienic, and welcoming. Since the role operates on a shift basis, candidates must be flexible and willing to work varying schedules, including weekends, overtime, and public holidays when required.

Main Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring that all designated areas are cleaned thoroughly and maintained according to company standards. Daily responsibilities include cleaning offices, reception areas, toilets, furniture, equipment, and other work spaces.
One of the primary responsibilities is ensuring that all office dustbins are emptied daily and that waste is disposed of correctly. Recycling procedures must also be followed by collecting paper waste in designated recycling bins for collection by the recycling company.
Bathroom hygiene is another important responsibility. The cleaner is required to inspect bathroom facilities at least twice each day and clean them whenever necessary. This helps maintain hygiene standards and provides employees and visitors with clean facilities throughout the day.
Floor care includes vacuuming carpets at least twice per week and ensuring that all surfaces remain clean and free from dust. Office furniture must be dusted regularly, while interior windows should be cleaned according to a rotational schedule, generally once every quarter.
