About the Role
Our client is looking for a skilled Bioprocess Engineer to join their innovative team specializing in Fermentation Technology in Mahikeng . This role is instrumental in the development, optimization, and scale-up of microbial fermentation processes for the production of valuable biochemicals and therapeutics. You will work closely with research scientists and production teams to ensure efficient and robust biomanufacturing operations. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of microbial physiology, bioreactor design, and process control, coupled with excellent problem-solving skills and a dedication to advancing bioprocessing capabilities.
Key Responsibilities- Design, optimize, and scale-up microbial fermentation processes for industrial applications.
- Monitor and control fermentation parameters (e.g., temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen) to ensure optimal microbial growth and product yield.
- Develop and implement downstream processing strategies for product recovery and purification.
- Conduct process validation studies and ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Troubleshoot process deviations and implement corrective actions to maintain operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with R&D and manufacturing teams to transfer and implement new bioprocesses.
- M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering , Biochemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial bioprocess development, with a focus on microbial fermentation.
- Strong knowledge of microbial physiology, metabolic engineering, and fermentation kinetics.
- Hands-on experience with bioreactor operation, process control systems, and downstream processing.
- Familiarity with GMP regulations and quality assurance in biopharmaceutical manufacturing.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
