Apprentice Machinist

Our client is seeking diligent individuals to join as Apprentice Machinists in Upington, Northern Cape . This apprenticeship provides comprehensive training in operating and maintaining machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders to produce precision metal components. You will learn to read engineering drawings, set up machinery, select appropriate tooling, and perform precision cutting and shaping operations. We are looking for candidates with a keen eye for detail, strong mathematical skills, and a dedication to producing high-quality manufactured parts for various industrial applications.

• Learn to operate manual and CNC machine tools safely and accurately.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Set up machines, including selecting and installing cutting tools and work holding devices.
• Perform precision machining operations to create components according to specifications.
• Measure and inspect finished parts to ensure compliance with tolerances.
• Maintain machine tools and the work environment, ensuring cleanliness and orderliness.

• Grade 12 with strong passes in Mathematics and Physical Science.
• A keen interest in precision engineering and manufacturing.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with tight tolerances.
