Analytical Development Chemist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and dedicated Analytical Development Chemist to join their innovative Research & Development department in Mahikeng . This role is crucial for developing, validating, and transferring robust analytical methods for new drug products and raw materials. You will work closely with formulation scientists and process engineers to support product development from early stages through to commercialization, ensuring product quality and regulatory compliance.

The successful candidate will leverage advanced analytical techniques and instrumentation to solve complex challenges, contributing to the scientific excellence of a leading pharmaceutical organization.

• Develop, optimize, and validate analytical methods (e.g., HPLC, GC, spectroscopy) for drug substances and drug products.
• Characterize raw materials, intermediates, and finished products using various analytical techniques.
• Perform stability studies and analyze results to determine product shelf-life and storage conditions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve analytical issues encountered during method development and routine testing.
• Prepare method validation protocols, reports, and analytical sections of regulatory submissions.
• Transfer analytical methods to Quality Control laboratories for routine testing.
• Stay current with scientific literature, new analytical technologies, and regulatory guidelines.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in analytical method development and validation in the pharmaceutical industry.
• Proficiency with a range of analytical instruments, particularly HPLC, UPLC, and GC.
• Strong understanding of pharmaceutical quality systems, GMP, and regulatory requirements (e.g., ICH guidelines).
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for scientific reporting and collaboration.
