Social Worker - Community Support

About the Role

Our client, a vital non-profit organization, is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Social Worker to provide crucial support services within the Upington community. This role is central to assisting individuals and families facing various challenges, connecting them with essential resources and empowering them towards self-sufficiency. You will conduct assessments, develop intervention plans, and offer counseling and support to improve client well-being.

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of client needs, identifying social, emotional, and environmental factors affecting their well-being.
• Develop individualized service plans, collaborating with clients to set goals and outline steps for achieving them.
• Provide direct counseling and support services, including crisis intervention and emotional support.
• Connect clients with appropriate community resources, such as housing assistance, healthcare, employment services, and educational programs.
• Maintain accurate and confidential client records, documenting all interactions and progress.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work or a related field.
• Registered with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP).
• Previous experience in social work, case management, or community support services.
• Strong understanding of social welfare systems and community resources in the Upington area.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a compassionate and empathetic approach.
