Professional Driver - Long Distance

Our client is looking for a skilled and experienced Professional Driver with a passion for long-distance travel to join their fleet, operating out of Upington . You will be responsible for the operation of a commercial vehicle, ensuring the safe delivery of cargo while adhering to all regulations and company policies. • Operate commercial vehicles for long-distance freight transportation, ensuring safety and efficiency.
• Plan and manage routes effectively, adhering to strict delivery schedules and deadlines.
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and maintenance checks.
• Securely load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling and cargo integrity.
• Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery details.
• Adhere to all traffic laws, transportation regulations, and company safety protocols.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and operations teams regarding route status and any issues encountered.

• Valid Code 10 driver's license with an active Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
• Minimum of 5 years experience as a professional driver, with specific experience in long-distance hauling.
• Proven knowledge of major road networks and safe driving practices for extended journeys.
• Ability to manage time effectively and work independently for extended periods.
