Patient Care Coordinator II
Orthopedic ONE – Columbus, OH
Responsibilities- Assists physicians and staff as the primary liaison between patients, staff, and physicians.
- Clinical: Facilitates patient flow, accompanies patients to exam and procedure rooms, assists with walking, transfers, dressing, specimen collection, and prepares for exams.
- Provides patient education related to treatment and answers, triages, and returns phone calls.
- Communicates changes to clinic schedule as needed and removes or applies wound dressing.
- Assists with bracing and casting, removes sutures or staples after physician assessment, prepares supplies, draws up injections, and electronically retrieves x‑ray, MRI, or other records.
- Administrative: Obtains insurance pre‑certification for diagnostic procedures, treatments, medications, or surgery; books surgery and completes all associated paperwork; schedules pre‑admission testing; ensures special surgical instruments or devices and DME are ordered; sends completed pre‑admission testing to the surgery location; prepares x‑rays and other patient information for surgery; completes disability forms; works with Patient Accounts to enter hospital charges or consults and resolves missing ticket reports and coding questions;
provides coverage for vacation/sick calls; develops and maintains a pre‑op patient education program; places prescription refill orders as directed by the physician. - Teamwork: Voluntarily provides coverage, maintains workflows within the department, works cooperatively, shares knowledge constructively, solves problems directly, and respects the work environment.
- Policies and Procedures: Knows and complies with policies enumerated in the Orthopedic ONE Employee Handbook and supports leadership in implementing policies.
- Completed medical assisting or comparable education; certification desired.
- Prior experience in a physician office setting essential; orthopedic or surgical environment preferred; previous casting experience desired.
- Must maintain current CPR certification.
Regular Full‑Time, Day Shift – Columbus, OH
Salary: $54,885.00 – $66,126.00
