Position Summary

We are looking for a friendly, customer-focused Culinary Island/Deli Team Member to join our team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, ensuring the quality and freshness of our prepared foods and deli items, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and performing key receiving and stocking tasks. The ideal candidate will be passionate about food, able to multitask, and eager to assist customers with their culinary needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greeting customers as they walk by and assisting them with any questions or needs related to the culinary island or deli sections
  • Assisting with heating up items, serving customers, and offering samples on the culinary island and in the cheese island
  • Stocking deli, bakery, and prepared food cases, refilling as needed to ensure fresh and attractive product
  • Stocking and maintaining department product throughout the store using First In, First Out method
  • Preparing antipasto and dips as needed
  • Slice meats and cheeses and handle labeling, dating, and stocking
  • Taking and logging temperatures to ensure food safety
  • Maintaining a clean work environment, assisting with washing dishes, tidying, sweeping, taking out the trash, and general cleaning as needed
Qualifications
  • Experience in deli slicing and food preparation is required
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to multi task and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Passion for food and an eagerness to learn about new products
  • Ability to work as part of a team while maintaining a positive attitude
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and willingness to adhere to them
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. unassisted
