Residential Manager - IDD
Verland is hiring Exceptional People to provide Compassionate Care as a Residential Manager - IDD for our Residential locations - CLA division.

Shift Availability24/7 - ON CALL
Employment TypeFull‑time, salaried, exempt position.
Responsibilities- Oversee day‑to‑day operations of the home to ensure that daily programs and activities are carried out and documented across all shifts.
- Plan, organize, and direct the operations of the house; reinforce the hierarchy of care and agency expectations.
- Supervise staff and ensure the implementation of individual programs.
- Monitor goal and procedural objectives implemented by direct care staff and report findings to the Program Specialist / Program Specialist Manager.
- Monitor direct‑care staff functions to ensure the safety and well‑being of the individuals.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations.
- Maintain accurate reporting of incidents and thorough documentation of relevant details.
- Initiate and/or implement employee disciplinary procedures.
- Resolve disputes in a fair and timely fashion by following established policies and procedures.
- Interact within the community relative to the individual’s and group needs (e.g., activities, transportation, medical visits, and tours).
- Act as a role model for appropriate employee dress and conduct per policies and procedures.
- Maintain the safety of the individuals by recognizing conditions that present as safety or programmatic concerns.
- Work as a Direct Support Professional as necessary to meet staffing requirements.
- Report all unusual problems to the Program Specialist and/or Health Services Coordinator as appropriate.
- Train and supervise newly hired direct‑care staff in the house and participate in the training and evaluation of assigned staff.
- Ensure food menus and doctor‑prescribed diets are followed and that sufficient groceries are in the house; perform any shopping as needed.
- Ensure that direct‑care staff complete required reports and documentation using stringent monitoring practices, training, and re‑education.
- Ensure that all materials and supplies needed for the homes are available, including maintenance issues at assigned homes and vehicle maintenance.
- Conduct monthly fire drills and fire safety trainings as required by regulations.
- Understand and comply with Verland’s Mission, Policies and Procedures and HIPAA policies and educate staff on and enforce compliance.
- Participate in inter‑departmental ventures/committees/processes as needed (Human Resources, Quality Management, Fiscal, etc.).
- Participate in the Inter‑Disciplinary Team.
- Maintain and monitor residents’ adaptive and personal equipment.
- Recommend goals and activities to the Program Specialist.
- Complete and submit inter‑departmental paperwork as required (FML, Worker’s Compensation, Change of Status Forms, etc.).
- Complete Medication Administration practicums as needed and complete weekly MAR reviews.
- Monitor and accurately report staff schedules, house budgets, expenses, and payroll.
- Attend in‑service training sessions and meetings as directed, including supervisory skill training.

- High school diploma or GED required; a bachelor’s degree in Education preferred, with experience in Human Services.
- Possess a working knowledge of residential practices and an understanding of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with individuals and staff.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Must be certified in First Aid, CPR, and have all state‑required clearances.
