Custodial Services at HRCE Schools

Support the Halifax Regional Centre for Education as a Custodian, ensuring cleanliness and orderliness in school facilities through dedicated cleaning and maintenance work.

This position is crucial within the Operations Services Department for maintaining a sanitary and attractive appearance in school buildings. In this role, you will interact positively with staff and students while performing various cleaning tasks. A commitment to good communication and adherence to policies is essential for success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute cleaning and minor repairs as scheduled

• Dust, vacuum, and sanitize all surfaces

• Empty trash and manage recyclable materials

• Restock consumable supplies diligently

• Address facility issues as they arise

Requirements:

• Capability to fulfill cleaning responsibilities physically

• Efficient communication with all site members

• Must be available for various shifts

• Previous custodial experience advantageous

• Ability to work with minimal supervision as needed
