Skilled Nursing Facility Rounder - Physician

Overview

Carle Health is seeking a BE/BC Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Geriatric Medicine physician to join our established practice in Urbana, Illinois.

Opportunity Details

• Join four Geriatricians supporting nursing home rounds, along with 7 APPs and 3 full-time nursing staff.
• Primary responsibilities include overseeing patient care at area nursing homes in post-acute care, long-term care, and assisted living/memory care.
• Scheduled work hours are Monday - Friday, 8 a.m.
  
  - 5 p.m.
• Candidates with significant Geriatrics experience in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine, or Fellowship-trained Geriatricians, are encouraged to apply.
• Hospital practice is not required.
• Collaborate closely with the APP team to manage patient needs.
• Physicians will be on call for their nursing home patients during the workweek as needed, with APPs handling the majority of calls.
• Rotate "MD Backup Call" among the 4 Geriatricians to serve as a resource for APPs during nights and weekends.
• Utilize Electronic Medical Record system, also used by local hospitals.
• Part-time positions are available.
• Opportunities for academic and research affiliations with the Carle Illinois College of Medicine.
• Potential to teach Internal Medicine residents with the Carle Internal Medicine Residency Program.
• Optional moonlighting opportunities with Carle's urgent care for extra income.

Compensation and Benefits
