Funded by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (IDCFS), the PRIDE Trainer is responsible for facilitating trainings for prospective, relative/fictive kin, licensed, and adoptive/sub guardianship caregivers across Illinois through web‑based, instructor‑led, and hybrid learning formats for the Learning and Development Unit within the Office of Learning and Professional Development (OLDP). The role participates in caregiver curriculum translation events to increase availability of Spanish language caregiver trainings.
Duties & Responsibilities- Facilitate in‑person, virtual, and on‑demand trainings based on approved DCFS caregiver curricula. Adapt to varying training assignments and deliver sessions in English and/or Spanish. Travel for in‑person trainings is required, often statewide.
- Manage data entry, ensure timely submission of paperwork, and monitor training schedules and hours to meet the 40‑hour weekly limit. Submit payroll and travel documentation according to UIUC payroll and mileage guidelines.
- Participate in staff development activities and meetings. Support the team through projects related to training, curriculum development, or other tasks. Travel for work groups and staff meetings may be required and can be statewide.
Travel required to conduct in‑person trainings and staff meetings, potentially statewide.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree.
- Bilingual fluency in both English and Spanish.
- A minimum of 5 years of recent experience as a licensed Foster and/or Adoptive Parent with knowledge of child welfare practices in Illinois, or 3 years of recent experience as a child welfare professional in a public or private agency.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work.
- Experience as a trainer.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem‑solving skills with independent judgment.
- Excellent communication and active listening skills.
- Proficiency in Zoom, Microsoft Office Suite, PDF tools, and data entry workflow management.
This part‑time academic hourly position is appointed on a 12‑month basis, grant‑funded, with several positions available statewide. Renewal depends on fund availability. The role requires a personal desktop or laptop and a designated space for presentations. Expected start date is as soon as possible after posting closes. Hourly wage: $38.00 per hour for training, $19.00 per hour for material preparation. Work authorization sponsorship not available.
