Maintenance Technician – IPL Schoeller

The role

We are seeking a Maintenance Technician to install and maintain injection molding machines. The position is safety sensitive and requires ensuring mechanical and electrical integrity of machine modifications or movements.

Shift schedule and hours

Rotating two‑week, 12‑hour schedule: 6:00 pm – 6:00 am.

Responsibilities
  • Support production personnel and molding technicians.
  • Assist with general machine maintenance project assignments.
  • Inspect injection molding machine equipment to confirm working order or document unscheduled repairs.
  • Provide training to other maintenance technicians as needed.
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks for production presses.
  • Visually inspect malfunctioning machines and troubleshoot root causes.
  • Analyze electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic problems and recommend solutions.
  • Execute maintenance projects as assigned.
  • Perform occasional work on the building roof or exterior silos.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and complete maintenance logs.
  • Enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and food safety policies.
Qualifications
  • Exhibit ownership of production team results.
  • Experience with various types of lifts (e.g., scissors lift).
  • Adherence to lock‑out/tag‑out procedures.
  • Knowledge of production processes, electrical components, and hydraulic systems.
  • High math and mechanical aptitude.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills.
  • Positive and professional attitude.
  • Ability to learn quickly with accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Strong problem‑solving ability during troubleshooting.
  • Excellent attendance record.
  • Willingness to climb frequently and use hand tools requiring significant upper‑body force.
  • Ability to work long periods walking, standing, and on a concrete floor.
  • Capability to work at tall heights using a lift.
  • Manual dexterity to evaluate, install, and modify equipment.
  • Must be able to lift 80 pounds.
