Qualifications
Certifications:
Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR);
Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA);
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 1 year - American Heart Association (AHA);
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 1 year - American Heart Association (AHA).
Education:
College Diploma in Nursing.
Work Experience:
Relevant nursing experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform all duties required by the unit, specific to the scope of service.
- Implement procedures and theories related to the area of practice.
- Maintain accurate documentation of nursing care.
- Conduct initial patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Implement and modify care plans based on ongoing evaluations.
- Ensure patient and staff safety by reporting hazards and incidents.
- Communicate effectively with team members and provide constructive feedback.
- Identify personal learning needs and pursue professional development.
- Complete departmental competencies and maintain proficiency in patient monitoring, including moderate sedation, arterial and venous sheath management, IV starts, and point-of-care testing.
- Assist with bedside procedures, including preparation, specimen collection, and hemodynamic monitoring.
