Med/Surg RN

Job Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of recent Med/Surg nursing experience (Trauma 1 experience required)
• Active Illinois Registered Nurse license in good standing
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) required;
  Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• EPIC EMR experience required

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans for Med/Surg patients
• Implement nursing interventions and adjust care plans based on patient evaluation
• Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC electronic medical records
• Administer medications and treatments following the 5 Rights of Medication Administration
• Promote patient safety by adhering to fall precautions, pressure ulcer prevention, and isolation protocols
• Participate in bedside shift reports and collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Delegate and oversee completion of patient care tasks to healthcare support staff
• Provide patient and family education and emotional support
• Foster a positive, professional environment to support healing and teamwork
