NICU Registered Nurse (RN) – Night Shift Travel Nursing Job in Urbana, Illinois

• Location: Urbana, IL 61801 (Illinois healthcare job)
• Facility: Level 3 NICU, Trauma 1 Hospital
• Contract Length: 13 weeks (Start: 12/29/2025 – End: 3/28/2026)
• Shift: Night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Hours per Week: 36 (3x12 hour shifts)
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2,360 - $2,420
• Employment Type: Travel Nurse Contract

• 3-5 years of recent NICU nursing experience in a Level 3 or higher neonatal intensive care unit
• Experience in Trauma 1 hospital settings
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records (EMR)
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ASN) required;
  Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Active Illinois RN license in good standing
• BLS (Basic Life Support, American Heart Association) certification
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program, American Heart Association) certification

• Deliver comprehensive neonatal nursing care in a Level 3 NICU environment
• Implement evidence-based procedures and neonatal nursing theories
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care using EPIC EMR
• Conduct initial patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Continuously evaluate and adjust care plans to meet patient and family needs
• Monitor intake and output for neonatal patients
• Support mothers with breastfeeding initiation and baby-friendly practices
• Administer medications using bar code scanning protocols
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and communicate patient status
• Promote patient and staff safety by identifying and addressing hazards
• Collaborate effectively with healthcare team members and provide constructive feedback
• Identify personal learning needs and pursue ongoing professional development
• Meet all departmental and hospital competency requirements
