Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardio/Pulmonary Med/Surg night shift role requiring IL RN license and Level 1 Trauma experience.

• Work in the Cardio/Pulmonary Med/Surg unit of a hospital setting
• Care for both acute and chronically ill cardiac and pulmonary patients
• Night shift schedule: 7:00PM to 7:30AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
• Use of EPIC EMR required
• No call or travel partners accepted
• Floating unspecified
• Responsible for initial patient assessment, development, implementation, and modification of care plans
• Administer medications, manage IVs, pain, and prepare for procedures
• Provide effective discharge education for safe transition from hospital
• Document all patient care accurately in the EMR
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team and provide professional communication
• Perform and delegate basic care including turning and toileting as per standards
• Maximum of 7 days requested time off allowed per 13-week contract
• Assignments cannot exceed one year continuously; must take a 6-month break before returning
• Must provide 30 days advance notice to cancel an assignment after starting
• Compliance deadlines must be met before start; allow 2 weeks for background check and drug screen
• Scrub or dress code information not specified

• Active Illinois RN license; temporary license accepted
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
• Minimum one year of relevant nursing experience required
• Previous experience with cardiac/telemetry patients and Level 1 Trauma required
• Associate degree in nursing (ASN) required; BSN preferred
• Documented EPIC charting experience required
• Must live at least 50 miles away from the facility; local candidates not accepted
