Overview
The Ambulatory Nurse utilizes a systematic approach to nursing by incorporating assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in the practice of nursing. Provides healthcare to individuals, families, and communities within the RN scope of practice as defined by the Illinois Board of Nursing.
Qualifications- Certified as a Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) – Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days – American Heart Association (AHA)
- High School Diploma or GED
- Provides and facilitates competent health care of patients and families in area of practice.
- Ensures adherence to established standards of care and scope of practice.
- Ensures documentation of care is complete and accurate.
- Provides health and wellness education to individuals and groups.
- Acts as preceptor and supports development of other staff and healthcare students.
- Provides leadership for initiatives designed to improve the quality of care or clinical outcomes.
- Assists Nursing Supervisor/coordinator in development of departmental standing orders.
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
- Assists provider with procedures.
- Maintains PAR levels for medical supplies and medications.
- Triage incoming patient calls/messages.
- Provides patient education through nurse visits, including annual wellness visits and chronic disease education/follow up.
- Obtains prior authorizations for patient visits, medications and referrals.
- Assists with team huddles and schedules appointments.
- Mentoring/supporting staff – MA & CMA.
- Participates in process improvement committees.

The compensation range for this position is $30.39 per hour - $52.27 per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
