Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU Stepdown position requiring Illinois RN licensure, Level 1 Trauma experience, and EPIC proficiency.

• Work in a Cardiovascular Stepdown Unit within a hospital setting
• Cares for post-operative CABG, vascular, and ICU-status patients
• Night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
• Patient care involves Stepdown and CVICU cases
• Use of EPIC charting is required
• No local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius
• Provide direct care for postoperative cardiac and vascular patients, as well as ICU-status cases
• Perform initial patient assessments and develop care plans according to unit standards
• Conduct hourly patient rounding and maintain a safe, clean work environment
• Support professional development among peers and participate actively in team collaboration
• First-time travelers will be considered
• RTO not to exceed 7 days per 13-week contract
• Workers may not continuously be on assignment for more than one year without a six-month break
• Scrub color or dress code details will be provided upon hire

• Active Illinois RN license or temporary license in good standing
• Minimum of one year of relevant nursing experience required
• Three years of relevant nursing experience strongly preferred
• Associate degree in Nursing (ASN) required; BSN preferred
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Documented EPIC experience required
