American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg
- Orthopedics RN requiring an active IL RN license and prior orthopedic/med-surg nursing experience for a day-shift inpatient unit.

• Inpatient Ortho/Med-Surg unit providing care to orthopedic and medical/surgical patients
• Day shift schedule, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, 3 days per week, 36 hours weekly
• Requires working 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week period
• Rotating holiday coverage required
• Float to similar units as needed
• Uses Epic charting system
• Involves use of ortho traction, surgical traction devices, wound vacs, drains, pouches, and urological devices

• Active IL RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant nursing experience
• ASN required, BSN preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Level 1 Trauma center experience required

• Provide direct patient care including assessment, care planning, and intervention for ortho and med-surg patients
• Educate patients on wound care, mobility, self-care, medication management, and care transition needs
• Coordinate care with physicians and surgeons and delegate tasks to healthcare care team staff
• Set up and manage ortho traction and surgical traction devices for mobility and wound care
• Manage wound appliances including wound vacs, drains, and urological devices
• Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible; local candidates not accepted
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
• Previous contingent workers must complete a 6-month break in service before returning if prior assignment exceeded 1 year
