Job Summary: The staff Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver responsible for a group of patients for a designated time frame. The RN provides care using the nursing process, current trends, technology, and available resources within the institution's philosophy. Responsibilities include patient assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation, ensuring safety, effective communication, and professional development.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum three (3) years of relevant nursing experience
- ASN degree
- Illinois state RN License in good standing
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- ACLS certification (American Heart Association)
- BSN degree
- Monitors EMU patients 24/7 for seizure activity
- Ensures effective communication with patients and families through hourly rounding, bedside shift reports, and whiteboards
- Collaborates with critical care teams and hospitalists for Advanced Care patients
