American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU/Peds Advanced Care position requiring an active IL RN license and PALS certification.

• Work in the Pediatric Unit covering PICU, Pediatric Advanced Care, and Pediatric Med/Surg patients
• Day shift schedule, 07:00-19:30, 3 days per week, 36 hours weekly
• Requires every other weekend and every other holiday coverage
• Performs dressing changes, catheter insertions, IV starts, and medication administration via bar code scanning
• Monitors intake and output and reports high alert lab results to providers
• Uses Epic EMR for charting

• Active IL RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (American Heart Association)
• Minimum three years of relevant nursing experience
• ASN required, BSN preferred
• Epic EMR charting experience required

• Collaborate with Pediatric Intensivists and Pediatric Hospitalists on patient care
• Perform initial assessments and develop individualized plans of care based on patient and family needs
• Act as a mandated reporter for suspected abuse or neglect cases
• Engage in bedside report, whiteboard updates, and hourly rounding to ensure strong communication with patients and families
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to ensure quality outcomes
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
• Returning contingent workers must take a 6-month break after 1 year of continuous assignment before returning to this health system
