American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for an Advanced Care/EMU unit on night shift, requiring Illinois RN licensure and at least three years of relevant nursing experience.
Details- Work in the Advanced Care/EMU unit of a hospital setting
- Monitors EMU patients 24/7 for seizure activity
- Collaborates with critical care team and hospitalists for Advanced Care patients
- Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- 36 hours per week, 3 shifts of 12 hours each
- 5 weekend shifts required within a 6-week schedule period
- Holiday coverage required every other holiday
- No floating requirements
- No on-call requirements
- Uses Epic charting system
- Active Illinois RN license in good standing
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association)
- Minimum of three years of relevant nursing experience
- ASN required, BSN preferred
- Epic charting experience required
- Level 1 Trauma experience required
- Provides direct patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the nursing process
- Completes initial patient assessments and develops individualized plans of care
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date nursing documentation
- Utilizes hourly rounding, bedside shift report, and whiteboards to communicate with patients and families
- Reports and corrects safety hazards and incidents
- Offers feedback and support for professional development of peers
- Fulfills all departmental competencies
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates not accepted
- RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
- Previous Carle Health contingent workers must complete a 6-month break in service after 1 year before returning to any Carle Health location
