American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Orthopedics/Med-Surg Inpatient unit requiring IL licensure and at least one year of relevant nursing experience.

• Inpatient Orthopedics and Medical/Surgical unit setting
• Cares for ortho and med/surg patients requiring traction, wound care, and mobility support
• Uses ortho traction and surgical traction devices, wound vacs, drains, pouches, and urological devices
• Utilizes Epic charting system
• Day shift schedule, 7:00AM-7:30PM, 3 shifts per week (36 hours)
• Requires 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week period
• Rotating holiday shift coverage required
• Floating to similar units required

• Active Illinois RN license (temporary license accepted)
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Minimum one year of relevant nursing experience required
• ASN required, BSN preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Level 1 Trauma experience required

• Provides direct nursing care including patient assessment, care planning, and implementation of nursing interventions
• Educates patients on wound care, mobility, self-care, medication management, and care transition needs
• Coordinates with physicians and surgeons regarding patient care plans
• Delegates and monitors care provided by healthcare care team (HCT) staff
• Maintains accurate nursing documentation in accordance with unit standards
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
• RTO limited to no more than 7 total days per 13-week contract
• Travel partners are not accepted for this position
