American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Cardiology unit requiring IL RN licensure and at least three years of relevant nursing experience.

• Work in a Cardiovascular Medical/Surgical unit providing direct care to post-op day one CABG, thoracotomy, and vascular surgery patients
• Night shift schedule consisting of 3x 12-hour shifts from
• 5-6 weekend shifts per 6 week schedule
• Holiday coverage required per department rotation
• Uses Epic for nursing documentation

• Active IL RN license in good standing
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association)
• Minimum three years of relevant nursing experience
• ASN required, BSN preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Level 1 Trauma center experience required

• Provide direct patient care including initial assessment, care planning, and implementation of nursing interventions for CVMS patients
• Perform hourly rounding and maintain a clean, safe patient care environment
• Report and correct safety hazards for patients and staff
• Collaborate with healthcare team members and confer with colleagues to expand knowledge base
• Maintain up-to-date nursing documentation in accordance with unit standards
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel position
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
• First-time travelers may be considered for this role
