Travel RN - Med​/Surg

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg RN for a night shift contract requiring Level 1 Trauma and Epic EMR experience.

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temp license accepted)
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Minimum one year of relevant nursing experience
• ASN required, BSN preferred
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Epic charting experience required

• Medical/Surgical unit within a Level 1 Trauma hospital setting
• Night shift schedule, 7:00PM - 7:30AM, 3x12-hour shifts per week
• Six weekend shifts per six-week schedule
• Every other holiday coverage required
• Float to similar units as needed
• Uses Epic EMR for charting
• Provide direct patient care including assessments, medication administration, care planning, and patient education following Carle Med/Surg documentation standards
• Receive bedside shift report and validate safe patient room environment at each shift change
• Delegate and validate completion of patient care tasks with Health Care Technicians (HCTs)
• Maintain patient safety priorities including fall precautions, pressure ulcer prevention, and isolation precautions
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate patient care and support timely admission/discharge processes
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius from the facility; local candidates not accepted
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
• Prior Carle Health contingent workers must complete a 6-month break in service after 1 year before returning to any Carle Health location
