Key Responsibilities
Deliver Accurate Cost Estimates: Prepare detailed estimates based on drawings and specifications, ensuring precision through comprehensive quantity take-offs and cost analyses.
Lead Bid Preparation: Assemble complete and competitive bids for various contract types, including Lump Sum, GMP, and Cost Plus, while maintaining consistency and clarity.
Drive Procurement Excellence: Develop strategies that secure quality materials and services on schedule, using modern procurement tools and best practices.
Manage Subcontractor Engagement: Build strong relationships with subcontractors; solicit, evaluate, and compare proposals to ensure thorough coverage and value.
Ensure Effective Scope Definition: Define and coordinate trade package scopes, addressing contract documents, logistics, schedule, and coordination to eliminate gaps or overlaps.
Champion Collaboration & Communication: Serve as a liaison among subcontractors, designers, consultants, and clients to promote transparency and teamwork throughout the preconstruction phase.
Support Constructability Reviews: Partner with project teams and designers to identify constructability issues, value-engineering opportunities, and cost‑saving solutions.
Advance Value Analysis: Develop and present cost-effective alternatives and scope adjustments that improve project value without compromising quality.
Promote Consistency in Estimating Practices: Coordinate with Operations and fellow Estimators to ensure General Conditions and Requirements are properly captured and standardized.
Oversee Document Control: Manage incoming drawings and specifications, ensuring accurate organization, version control, and timely distribution to all stakeholders.
Guide Post‑Bid
Activities:
Document, review, and act on bid results, finalize scopes, and make recommendations for subcontract awards to the project leadership team.
Mentor Junior Staff: Supervise and support Assistant Estimators and Interns, fostering skill development and collaboration within the preconstruction team.
Leverage Technology: Utilize BuzzBID and other estimating tools to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and data management throughout the estimating process.
Physical Demands
This position may require occasional site visits and physical activity typical of construction environments. The ability to climb, kneel, balance, or lift up to 50 pounds may occasionally be necessary.
- Office: Professional, quiet to moderate noise level.
- Field: Exposure to construction environments, including machinery, weather, and varying noise levels (moderate to loud).

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of estimating or preconstruction experience, or equivalent education and experience.
• Proven ability to read, understand, and interpret drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
