Role DescriptionWe are seeking a knowledgeable and motivated Agronomist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in row crop agronomy and demonstrate expertise in both technical and sales aspects of the industry. This role involves working closely with growers and other retailers to provide agronomic solutions, manage accounts, and drive business development initiatives. Experience in field scouting, seed, chemical and fertility recommendations would be required.
This full time position is salary based with commission focused on your sales and performance, we want you to succeed when we succeed! The Agronomist will play a crucial role in promoting our products and services while ensuring customer satisfaction through effective communication and support.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients through outside sales efforts, ensuring their agronomic needs are met.
- Conduct product demonstrations and provide technical support to clients, showcasing the benefits of our offerings.
- Manage territory effectively, identifying potential leads and generating new business through cold calling and direct sales strategies.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to create promotional materials that highlight product advantages.
- Analyze market trends and customer feedback to inform product development and sales strategies.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing with clients to maximize profitability while maintaining customer satisfaction.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and offering tailored solutions to meet client needs.
- Engage in upselling opportunities by identifying additional products or services that would benefit existing customers.
- Minimum of 5 years industry experience or an agricultural degree and 2 years of experience with a focus on technical sales or agronomy‑related products preferred.
- Strong background in account management, territory management, or business development within the agricultural sector.
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to close deals effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct market analysis and generate leads through various channels.
- Experience in providing product recommendations and helping implement them at the grower level to promote success in our customer’s fields.
