As a Virtual CFO, this position will work directly with clients to help manage their accounting and finance department, prepare financial reporting, perform financial analysis, and advise on business matters.
This role blends strategic leadership with hands‑on process improvement to effectively manage financial information and resolve accounting issues for our clients.
Job Duties- Provide guidance and thought leadership on accounting, financial, and general advisory aspects of the client’s business.
- Ensure appropriate utilization and efficiency of software applications.
- Develop budgets, forecasts, and KPIs.
- Drive process improvement, standard operating procedures, and industry‑specific best practices.
- Coordinate and participate in year‑end income tax planning and strategies.
- Adequately adapt to client needs by delivering short‑term solutions while progressing long‑term goals.
- Set and meet defined deadlines on client projects.
- Maintain open and honest fee discussions while ensuring engagement profitability.
- Proactively pursue new business for this service and generate referrals for internal growth.
- Maintain an active and engaging social media presence to connect with and influence target audiences.
- 10+ years of experience in both public accounting and private company settings.
- Familiarity with accounting systems;
Quick Books and Sage experience is preferred. - Experience delegating work and managing client and other COI relationships.
- Strong strategic and stakeholder leadership skills.
- Prior board experience.
- Experience building cross‑functional teams.
- Track record of cross‑selling services to clients.
- Lending and M&A leadership experience.
- Strong background in the construction industry.
- MS Office / Windows experience, especially financial modeling and data management in Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
