Royal Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation is seeking an experienced Human Resources Director / Business Office Manager to support the operational and administrative functions of our skilled nursing facility in Urbandale, IA.
This leadership role is responsible for overseeing human resources, payroll, and business office operations while ensuring compliance with all applicable labor laws, regulatory requirements, and internal policies. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and experience in long-term care operations.
Position SummaryThe Human Resources Director / Business Office Manager assists with the day-to-day operations of the HR department and business office. This role ensures accurate and timely payroll processing, proper maintenance of employee records, regulatory compliance, and effective financial and billing operations to support the overall success of the facility.
Key ResponsibilitiesHuman Resources & Payroll
Maintain an effective, organized, and compliant payroll system
Prepare and submit accurate payroll reports in a timely manner
Implement and maintain written HR policies and procedures
Verify employment data and conduct background checks for applicants
Enter and maintain all employee data in the HRIS system, including payroll, benefits, and personnel information
Update HRIS records for employee changes such as benefits, pay increases, and status changes
Assist with new employee orientation and onboarding
Maintain benefit records including medical, dental, life insurance, voluntary policies, PTO, ITO, and FMLA tracking
Business Office & Accounting
Ensure office supplies are requested, approved, and ordered in accordance with facility policies
Bill, monitor, and collect accounts receivable
Report delinquent accounts to the Administrator and/or Director of Finance
Assist in planning and implementing improvements to accounting systems
Perform all job functions required of the Accounting/Billing Assistant as needed
High school diploma or GED preferred
Previous experience in Human Resources and payroll strongly preferred
Minimum 2 years of business office and/or accounting experience
, preferably in long-term care accounts receivableWorking knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, and insurance billing
Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment
