Installation Technician, Telecoms Engineering
Job Description
We are seeking 4 resources in Des Moines to start as soon as possible.
- Two positions will focus on spotting lifts and ensuring technician safety.
- Two positions will primarily handle cable placement and pulling communication lines. These roles will also involve AV, security cabling, and minor installation terminations on Category 6 and security cabling, including crimping connectors and door security devices.
This work supports the Microsoft Data Center
. Candidates will perform device installation and final connections, so previous low-voltage or electrical experience is required
.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with cable and fiber installation.
- Lead or foreman experience is a plus.
- Ability to pull cable, splice fiber, mount enclosures, and perform minor terminations.
- Install communications hardware, including fiber optic cabling and electronic devices, to the highest quality standards.
- Maintain a professional and safe working environment.
- Place data, voice, video, and fiber optic cables.
- Terminate wires for data, voice, video, and fiber optic cables.
- Splice multi-conductor copper and fiber optic cables.
- Install data, voice, and video hardware.
- Operate power tools, drills, saws, vehicles, and man lifts.
- Test data and fiber optic cables using appropriate equipment.
- Maintain clean work areas and comply with all safety programs.
Additional Requirements
- Previous history in communications or construction preferred.
- Previous cable pulling/placement experience strongly desired.
- Lead/management experience is a bonus.
- Drug and 7 year check screening required.

This is a Contract position based out of Urbandale, IA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 – $24.00/hr.
