Monmouthshire Council are committed to promoting excellence in safeguarding education, ensuring that at all levels people are equipped with the knowledge, skills and confidence to effectively support, protect and manage risk for children and young people. We are currently seeking a Lead Officer for Safeguarding in Education and Early Years Services to continue to maintain and develop the delivery and coordination of high-quality safeguarding processes and training to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children and young people across the county.

Based within the Children Services Safeguarding Unit this role will support Education colleagues’ compliance with statutory safeguarding requirements, and will work in partnership with colleagues across the Local Authority to ensure high standards of Safeguarding practice.

Salary: Pro‑rated if not working full‑time hours or 52 weeks per year. For example, 37 hours per week / 32.5 hours per week for School Teachers.

Location: County Hall (Rhadyr - Usk), NP15 1GA
, United Kingdom. The location may change in the future if the service location needs to relocate. Relocation or disturbance expenses will not be paid if this happens.

Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check: Appointment to this post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and is subject to an Enhanced DBS check with Both Children/Adults Barred List checks.

Welsh Language: Welsh language skills are essential.
