We are working closely alongside with a local authority in Monmouthshire to assist with the appointment of a Social Care Assistant Trainer on a 2.5-months contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration., The Social Care Assistant Trainer is a temporary, part-time role (18.5 hours per week) within the Social Care and Health Directorate.
This position is dedicated to developing the skills, knowledge, and experience of the social care workforce and external partners across Monmouthshire. Working as part of the Workforce Development Team, the successful candidate will deliver high-quality learning opportunities-including mandatory training like Manual Handling and First Aid-to ensure the workforce meets current best practices and national requirements.
- Facilitate engaging learning opportunities across diverse subjects through various platforms, including face-to-face, digital, and e-learning.
- Support the registration and re-registration of the social care workforce with Social Care Wales.
- Facilitate the organization of training events, including booking venues, completing attendance registers, and participating in the collection of training data.
- Ensure all learning reflects the councils core values (Teamwork, Openness, Flexibility, Fairness, Kindness) and promotes equality, diversity, and inclusion.
- Maintain safe working practices in accordance with Health and Safety policies and remain up-to-date with all mandatory training.
Successful completion of a "train the trainer" qualification or an equivalent teaching/training credential. - Successful completion of a recognized Social Care qualification.
- Proven experience working within a frontline social care or health service area.
- Demonstrated experience in delivering training to a social care workforce, specifically including Manual Handling and First Aid.
- Experience in building and maintaining positive working relationships and the ability to adapt communication styles for different audiences
- An in-depth understanding of the social care profession, the Code of Professional Practice for Social Care, and the Social Care Wales registration process.
- A full UK driving license
