Due to the nature of the role, applicants must be eligible to obtain Security Clearance (SC), complete BPSS checks, be eligible to work in the UK without sponsorship, and have lived and worked in the UK for the past five years.
The OpportunityWe're looking for an experienced Procurement Professional to join a busy procurement team supporting major defence programmes.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on complex programmes while contributing to procurement strategy, supplier performance and continuous improvement initiatives.
As a Procurement Professional, you'll manage supplier relationships, support sourcing and contracting activities, and ensure products and services are delivered on time, to budget, and in line with business and customer requirements.
- Manage supplier and stakeholder relationships across multiple contracts and projects
- Support sourcing, tendering and contracting activities
- Raise procurement documentation including RFIs, RFQs and Purchase Orders
- Manage contracts throughout their lifecycle
- Ensure suppliers meet quality, cost and delivery expectations
- Proactively address supplier performance issues and implement corrective actions
- Monitor order books to support timely deliveries and accurate forecasting
- Manage supplier payment, goods receipt and debt resolution activities
- Identify and deliver procurement savings opportunities
- Support risk management and escalation activities
- Provide guidance and support to junior team members
- Deputise for Procurement Leads or Managers when required
- Around 3+ years' experience within a procurement or supply chain environment
- Strong sourcing, supplier management and contracting experience
- Experience managing supplier performance and stakeholder relationships
- Knowledge of procurement processes and purchase-to-pay systems
- Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment
- Experience supporting bid and proposal activities
- Defence, manufacturing or engineering sector experience
- Previous experience managing complex order books or supplier portfolios Why Apply?
