OverviewRhino Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of our client, a well‑established engineering business, who are looking to appoint an experienced and enthusiastic Welder / Fabricator to join their friendly and skilled team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a time‑served Welder / Fabricator who takes pride in producing high-quality work and enjoys working on varied and interesting engineering projects.
The successful candidate will be joining a diverse engineering environment, with exposure to machine shop operations, ferrous and non‑ferrous fabrication, fitting and site‑based engineering work. The role offers variety, responsibility and the opportunity to develop your career within the business, with potential progression into positions such as Foreman or Estimator for the right individual.
Responsibilities- Producing high-quality fabricated and welded components, working from engineering drawings and sketches and using a range of welding processes.
- Working accurately from engineering drawings, fabrication drawings and sketches.
- TIG, MIG and MMA welding of stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel.
- Sheet metal and frame fabrication.
- Producing work to a consistently high standard of quality and workmanship.
- Working predominantly in the workshop, with occasional site‑based work.
- Carrying out quality checks on your own work and, where required, the work of others.
- Identifying and resolving fabrication and welding issues using your knowledge and experience.
- Working to project deadlines and maintaining high standards throughout.
- Following all company health and safety procedures.
- Working overtime when required to meet business and project demands.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in welding and fabrication.
- Experience with TIG, MIG and MMA welding.
- Strong sheet metal and frame fabrication skills.
- The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and sketches.
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality.
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- The ability to work effectively to tight deadlines.
- A practical and proactive approach to problem solving.
- The ability to work confidently both independently and as part of a team.
- A flexible approach to overtime when required.
Shortlisted candidates will be required to complete a practical weld test as part of the interview process.
