About The Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and qualified Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our friendly team at Usk Vets on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a dynamic and rewarding role. The position is full-time, with a 40-hour workweek, on a rota basis. 4 x shifts from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with shared Saturday morning shifts from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

We are a two-site, small animal practice in the heart of Monmouthshire and our branch surgery is within a ten-minute drive away. Our practice is set a stone's throw away from Monmouthshire River which our staff and their dogs enjoy are a five-minute walking distance into Usk Town and situated within the Brecon Beacons. The area offers an abundance for you to do in your downtime away from work.
Cardiff and Bristol are both within a 45-minute drive.
We have our laboratory for in-house use, DR X-ray machine with Signal Pet Use, dental x-ray and separate dental theatre along with our prep rooms and main theatre, ultrasound machine, endoscopy and walk‑in kennels.
As part of a supportive and dynamic team of 9 reception staff, 1 Practice Manager, 7 Vets, and 9 Nurses, you’ll play an integral role in delivering the high level of care and service our practice is known for.
What we are looking forWe’re looking for a qualified and enthusiastic Registered Veterinary Nurse with at least 1 year of experience in a similar role. The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing excellent care to both patients and clients, with a strong ability to work collaboratively within a team. A commitment to maintaining high standards of care and a willingness to take on a variety of responsibilities are essential.
