Position: Teller/New Accounts Representative
Location: Salem

About the Role

Altabank, Division of Glacier Bank, is looking for a Full‑time Teller/New Accounts Representative for our Salem branch. Assist customers and potential customers by providing friendly, accurate, and timely assistance. Recommend and explain banking services and products based on their needs and help with client inquiries and complaint resolution. Assist customers with their financial transactions, including paying and receiving cash and other negotiable instruments.

Responsibilities
  • Receive and process customer financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, credit card payments, cashier’s checks, fund transfers, and the sale of gift cards.
  • Maintain and balance cash or teller drawer daily while adhering to assigned transaction limits.
  • Become proficient in the Bank’s products and services and provide solution‑based banking services and products for customer needs.
  • Resolve customer concerns within authority and elevate to appropriate manager when needed.
  • Answer phones, process wire transfers, stop payments, check orders, and create debit cards.
  • Provide excellent customer service and deepen relationships by following established customer‑service standards.
  • Open and close branch as schedule deems necessary.
  • Comply with laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
  • Complete required bank training courses within assigned time frames.
  • Work on the Summit Progression Program to develop assigned skills and increase proficiency.
  • Adhere to Altabank Core Values.
  • Keep management informed of activities and significant problems.
  • Participate in community service and bank‑sponsored activities.
  • Deliver superior internal and external customer service, demonstrating courtesy and respect toward all customers.
  • Maintain a professional image, confidentiality, a positive “happy to help” attitude, good attendance, punctuality, flexibility, and adaptability.
  • Keep work area tidy and maintain customer privacy.
  • Attend and participate in meetings as required.
  • Ensure regular, predictable, and timely attendance.
  • Be prepared for duties that may change.
Schedule

Mon, Tue, Thu, and Fri 9‑6; 10‑6 on Wednesdays.

About You

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma.
  • Six months of similar or related experience.

Knowledge, Skill, Ability

  • Attention to detail in working with numbers and names.
  • Excellent customer‑service skills.
  • Calm and professional interaction with diverse people at various organizational levels.
  • Regular, reliable, and timely attendance.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities, demands, and timelines through time‑management, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
Work Environment

No hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions.

Physical Demands

Very common: sit; use hands in repetitive motions; talk and hear. Occasionally stand, walk, lift, or reach with hands and arms. Must operate routine office equipment and perform extended hours or travel off site when required. Must climb/descend stairs in an emergency. Visual acuity needed for close work.

Compensation & Benefits

The entry rate for this position is $17.00+/hr. Starting salary depends on experience and location. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and life insurance; health savings account;

Generous Paid Time Off (PTO) accruals and paid holidays are available: 6 paid holidays for full‑time employees; prorated for part‑time. PTO accrual rate is .0745 per hour worked for part‑time employees up to a maximum of 240 hours per year. Employees in Utah and Nevada may be eligible for pay for certain state‑recognized holidays.
