Location: Naples
PT Sped Ed. Teacher Aide (Life Skills Classroom) – Eagle View Elementary
United School District is hiring a part‑time PT Special Education Teacher Aide for the life skills classroom at Eagle View Elementary. The position is for up to 29.5 hours per week during the 2025‑2026 school year. The role does not include benefits and is a voucher‑based position.
Responsibilities- Provide instructional support to the special education teacher.
- Assist in teaching daily living skills, social skills, leisure‑time activities, self‑help skills, community access and mobility skills.
- Lift up to 45 pounds as required.
- Encourage and reinforce students, building self‑image and responsibility.
- Assist the teacher with student behavior management.
- Provide instruction to students under the direction of the special education teacher.
- Assist with clerical duties.
- Accompany students to mainstream classes, supervising and assisting between classes.
- Assist students with feeding, personal hygiene, toileting, diapering, changing clothes; lift, position and carry students when needed.
- Assist students with group and club participation during school hours.
- Assist in planning and supervising field trips and other off‑campus activities.
- Follow the teacher's program when working with students.
- Track student progress and collect behavioral data.
- Consistently follow the behavior system and classroom management program.
- Tutor students in small groups with basic reading and math skills.
- Maintain positive working relationships with students and staff.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate degree (48 semester hours) or passage of the Para‑Pro Test (or willingness to take and pass the Para‑Pro Test immediately upon hire) required.
- Successful experience working with children at risk.
- Successful experience as an at‑risk teaching assistant.
