Lava Heights Academy is a residential treatment program that provides a safe, supportive and nurturing environment for vulnerable young women who are referred from juvenile courts and social service agencies both locally and across the country. The youth enter the program with a history of abuse, neglect, trauma, substance abuse, mental illness and violence. They graduate from Falcon Ridge Ranch as educated young women who have overcome challenges and have demonstrated making healthy choices for themselves and for their future.
Pay
:
Salary. Depending on Experience according to established teacher salary matrix.

What you will do: This is a full-time, salaried, Licensed Teacher position at our residential school program working with youth position is teaching to grades 7-12 in a multi-age classroom environment. 3 years of teaching experience required. Small classroom sizes (approx 10 students per class) and supportive, collaborative, and fun team of educators to work with. You will use various methodologies and research related to learning, effective classroom management techniques and behavioral management styles, effective communication techniques that enable positive and productive collaboration with site staff and technology and how it can be used as an educational tool.
To be considered you should:
- Be at least 21 years of age
- Possess a current and valid UT State teaching license credentialed in English, Math, Science and/or Special Education
- At least 3 years of successful classroom experience
- Have related experience working with at-risk youth
If required to operate a company vehicle during the course of employment, must meet the requirements to be an eligible ROP driver - Must possess a current State Driver’s License and have an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years
- Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug screen, physical, and TB test
- Be able to pass a search of the child abuse central registry
Schedule: Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
