Overview
Project Geotechnical Engineer to manage geotechnical, forensic, and construction projects, including meeting and interacting with the client, and managing budgets. The Project Engineer will coordinate and participate in field activities, including logging of borings, test pits, trenches and cores; evaluation of geologic and seismic hazards; forensic evaluation of distressed structures and failed slopes; perform liquefaction, slope stability, and settlement analyses; and prepare geotechnical engineering proposals and reports.
Duties include providing technical support to staff-level engineers, geologists and field technicians.
- Coordinate and participate in field activities, including logging borings, test pits, trenches and cores.
- Evaluate geologic and seismic hazards; conduct forensic evaluation of distressed structures and failed slopes.
- Perform liquefaction, slope stability, and settlement analyses.
- Prepare geotechnical engineering proposals and reports.
- Provide technical support to staff-level engineers, geologists and field technicians.
- Manage budgets and interact with clients as part of project delivery.
B.S./B.A. required (Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or Construction Engineering); M.S. preferred.
Required Skills- Licensed Professional Engineer with 4+ years of geotechnical consulting experience.
- Local experience and familiarity with local engineering practice preferred.
- Team player, detail-oriented, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
- Experience with construction and grading activities is strongly desired.
