Northrop Grumman, Space Systems, is seeking a Process Engineer to support our Process Engineering team at our Promontory, UT location.

• Developing and improving manufacturing processes in the Propellant Mix/Cast area
• Spending time in the operations area observing and monitoring propellant mixing and casting processes
• Performing cause and corrective action activities to permanently eliminate defects
• Working with concurrent engineering team to create Build-to-Packages (i.e. engineering and planning documents)
• Authoring, updating and reviewing shop floor planning
• Preparing and presenting technical presentations to VSET, leadership, and to the customers for review and approval
• Performing table top reviews
• Using SPC tools to ensure process control
• Developing and incorporating process improvements
• Troubleshooting production/tooling/facility issues and implementing improvements and solutions
• Supporting design, checkout, qualification and implementation of new or modified tooling or equipment
• Assist in the process development and manufacturing of propellant premix, propellant mixing chemical synthesis, and AP grinding for various programs

Level 1: 0 to 2 years of engineering experience
Level 2: 2 years or more of engineering experience

• Self-Started that takes initiative to complete tasks and assignments with little supervision
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
• Experience writing shop planning (Electronic Shop Instructions experience a plus)
• Experience working with energetic materials and processes (Preferred)
• Process Controls (SPC)
• Interpreting blueprints and specifications
• Good problem-solving skills and strong oral and written communication skills
• Good organization and multi-tasking skills
• Experience in Lean Manufacturing techniques
• Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Successful candidate must be able to pass a background check for the Federal Safe Explosives Act (SEA)

• B.S. degree in Chemical, Mechanical Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering (other technical degrees may be considered)

Primary Level Salary Range: $63,900.00 – $95,900.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $77,200.00 – $

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.

Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
