APCO has an exciting opportunity for a full‑time Control Systems Engineer in our control and automation consulting firm and its related businesses. We are looking for candidates who are self‑driven, problem solvers, and able to work effectively with others. The successful candidate will be able to support the needs of our clients and deliver premier control system projects that may incorporate any combination of system design, PLC programming, HMI programming, telemetry, networking, and instrumentation.
JobFunctions
- Setup and configure SCADA software and hardware
- Provide testing, commissioning, and startup services for control and automation systems (including instrumentation, communications, control panels, PLCs, and HMI) in a variety of industries
- Engineer SCADA-related solutions to address customer needs and concerns.
- Modify PLC and HMI applications in the field
- Troubleshoot software related issues remotely and in the field
- Troubleshoot hardware related issues including: panel wiring, VFD/motor control, telemetry, monitoring instrumentation
- Ensure that delivered projects meet provided client specifications
- Coordinate effectively with other staff members on larger projects
- Support less experienced employees in their development
- Develop and implement engineering standards according to client needs
- Provide training to clients about delivered systems
- Willingness to travel as required
- 3+ years of experience with SCADA or MES integration and programming preferred
- Demonstrate strong critical thinking and problem‑solving skills
- Proficiency in HMI programming
- Proficiency in PLC programming
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred (can be waived with adequate relevant experience)
- Annual salary and bonus commensurate with experience and background
