Nucor Steel Utah - Location:
Plymouth, UT, United States
- Participating in safety and housekeeping activities.
- Assisting with process and product development.
- Troubleshooting upset conditions.
- Using statistical methods and data analysis to guide decision making.
- Leading safety, quality & efficiency improvement efforts.
- Leading team member training efforts.
- Working closely with operation and maintenance teams to ensure optimal melt shop performance.
- Base schedule is Mon‑Fri dayshift; nights and weekend work may be required to support the melt shop team.
- 100% Safe – Leading our teams in safety, creating focus on hazard awareness, reduction, and safe behaviors.
- Profitability – Leading our teams to achieve production goals by creating focus on continuous process improvement through elimination of waste, improved production efficiencies, and new product opportunities.
- Team Development – Leading our teams to develop personally and professionally to create sustainability for Nucor’s future success.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, chemical, metallurgical, or comparable engineering field
- Strong statistical knowledge and experience
- Six sigma or similar problem-solving experience
- Prior QMOS experience
- Melt Shop operational experience
- Understanding of AMI Smart Furnace application
