Behavioral Health Sexual Assault Prevention Specialist - Full Time

We have 4 primary care health centers and deliver integrated services including behavioral health, Pharmacy, Dental, specialty referrals, chronic disease management, health education, and much more.

UNHS is hiring a Full‑Time (FT) position for a Behavioral Health Sexual Assault Prevention Specialist.

Key Performance Indicators
  • Develop and implement comprehensive sexual assault prevention program and initiatives, including presentations, workshops, and training sessions for clients, staff, and community members.
  • Provide direct support and advocacy for survivors of sexual assault, including crisis intervention, safety planning, and referrals to community resources.
  • Work with local organizations and agencies to coordinate and improve the response to sexual assault, including the development of protocols and procedures.
  • Collaborate with campus departments to promote a culture of consent, healthy relationships, and bystander intervention.
  • Conduct outreach and education to increase awareness and understanding of sexual assault, including the definition of consent, the impact of trauma, and the importance of bystander intervention.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of laws, policies, and best practices related to sexual assault prevention and response.
  • Develop and conduct sexual assault prevention conferences for community members.
  • Conduct sexual assault prevention education classes for community members.
  • Create, plan and conduct Sexual Assault Awareness Month activities in April (e.g., Teal 5K Walk/Run events in the communities).
  • Knowledge and ability to use various software programs and applications (Windows, Outlook, Excel, Word, Google suite, etc.).
Requirements
  • Minimum attendance rate of 75% for sexual assault prevention workshops, presentations, and training sessions.
  • Attending coalition meetings, community meetings, UNHS SART meetings, and providing resources, information, and educational opportunities.
  • Providing support services and direct victim services for survivors, including referrals to UNHS departments, medical providers, victim services programs, and law enforcement.
  • Collaborating and partnering with other UNHS departments, local organizations, and community partners regarding sexual assault awareness and prevention in San Juan County, Utah.
  • Providing two conferences each year that center around sexual assault prevention and education in Indigenous communities (one for Indigenous men and boys, one for Indigenous women and girls).
  • Providing four educational events each year, held at each site:
    Montezuma Creek Clinic, Blanding Family Practice, Navajo Mountain Clinic, Monument Valley Clinic (total 16 events per year).
  • Attending coalition meetings such as the San Juan County Boundaries Workgroup, SJCPAC, UNHS SART Team, etc.
  • Providing satisfaction surveys, pre‑tests and post‑tests for participants, documenting demographic data of direct victim services and participation at events, conferences, and educational events, and reaching target participation numbers.
Experience, Training, and Qualifications Needed
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as social work, psychology, or public health.
  • Sexual Assault Counselor Training (preferred).
  • Desire or experience in advocating for survivors and developing prevention programs.
Immunizations/Vaccinations
  • MMR (two doses or titers).
  • Complete Hepatitis B series (or proof of immunity).
  • PPD skin testing (or appropriate documentation).
  • Tdap.
  • Varicella titers or immunization history.
  • Influenza vaccine current year.
  • COVID‑19 vaccine.
  • Other vaccinations as requested.
