OverviewThe Safety Manager I will promote and maintain a culture of safety excellence within the organization. You will be responsible for implementing safety programs, conducting training sessions, and ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have a passion for safety, strong communication skills, and the ability to engage and inspire others to prioritize safety in the workplace.
Key Responsibilities- Safety Program Development:
Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety programs and policies to ensure a safe working environment for all employees, subcontractors, and visitors. - Review and update safety manuals, procedures, and protocols in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations and industry best practices.
- Safety Training and
Education:
Conduct safety training sessions, toolbox talks, and workshops to educate employees on safety procedures, hazard identification, and accident prevention techniques. - Coordinate with department managers to ensure that employees receive job‑specific safety training and certifications as required.
- Safety Inspections and Audits:
Conduct regular inspections and audits of worksites, equipment, and facilities to identify potential safety hazards, unsafe conditions, and non‑compliance with safety regulations. - Document inspection findings, issue corrective actions, and follow up to ensure timely resolution of safety issues.
- Incident Investigation and Reporting:
Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and other safety‑related incidents to determine root causes, contributing factors, and corrective actions needed to prevent recurrence. - Prepare and submit incident reports, including detailed analysis and recommendations for improvement, to management and regulatory agencies as required.
- Safety Compliance and Regulatory Affairs:
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local occupational health and safety regulations, including OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards, EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) requirements, and industry‑specific safety standards. - Stay updated on changes to safety regulations and standards and implement necessary changes to maintain compliance.
- Safety Communication and Promotion:
Promote a safety‑first culture by communicating safety messages, initiatives, and goals through various channels, including safety meetings, newsletters, posters, and digital signage. - Encourage employee participation and engagement in safety programs, committees, and activities to create a sense of ownership and accountability for safety.
